INFLATION IS UNGOOD

R275.00

Any life lived to the fullest is a delightful journey. Light-hearted insights into a wide variety of matters make the journey more bearable, as there are many pitfalls. Life is the short period we all have between birth and death, of which we should all make the most. Today is the youngest you will ever be.

Economics, inflation, finance, life, living, management, politicians and sexual truths are covered in one text. At first glance, it seems impossible to discuss all these matters in one book, but in this case, there is a connection.
Somehow, you get screwed. Inflation harms all people, the inflated egos of some managers lead to the downfall of staff and businesses and we should reserve judgement on politicians.
Logic does not always prevail and this book offers some sanity in a crazy world. For instance, the median length of all published books is estimated as 64 531 words. So, this book also has 64 531 words because authors should exercise restraint in challenging median values.
“When last did we have a book that synthesises lived-through wisdom, brevity of form, sparkling dry humour, and real laughter as one recognises oneself as a South African, warts and all? A book that balances optimism with realism? A book written with a charming humility? Such a book finally arrives with Jannie Rossouw’s manuscript.” – Professor Etienne Terblanche.

Jannie is a happily married political economist living in Pretoria with his wife, Sunélle. They have two children and one son-in-law. He is the author or co-author of more than sixty academic papers and numerous newspaper and magazine articles. He is a visiting professor at Wits Business School in Johannesburg and is often a guest on radio and TV programmes.

From his public comment and from this book, it is clear that he is concerned about inflation and the attitude of many bad managers. He has a particularly low opinion of the ANC government in power in South Africa since the democratic elections in 1994. This book includes an autobiographical chapter that can be consulted for more information on the author.
